# Add a private note to a Topic

The **Note** block allows you to add a private note in a meeting Topic.

Your notes appear by default on a yellow background. They are visible only to the user who adds them and can be entered at any stage of the meeting (including when the meeting minutes are locked). To add a private note, you have three options:

*   Select the **Note** block
    
*   Enter _Note_ using the **`/`** command
    
*   Add a note using the `+` icon in the left margin
