Task observer

What is an observer?

A task can only have one person responsible for completing it. To reinforce the collaborative aspect of task execution, WEDO has developed the notion of observer. So, while a task can have only one person in charge, it can have several observers who are notified of every action concerning it. Observers are notified when the task is completed, deleted, commented on or when the due date or person in charge changes.

A user becomes an observer by default if he/she creates the task, comments on the task, delegates the task or if a task is assigned to him/her.

This feature encourages collective monitoring of the same task, and makes users aware of important updates to the tasks that concern them.

ℹ️ In summary:

Observers are notified when :

The task has been completed

The task is ONGOING again

The task is deleted

The task is restored

The task is commented on

Task has a new due date

Task has a new assignee

A user becomes an observer by default if he/she :

Creates the task

Comments on the task

Delegates the task

gets assigned to a task

Users can add and remove themselves as observers of tasks to which they have access via a workspace. They can also remove people they have added as observers. However, it is not possible to remove an observer added by another user.

To add an observer to a task, click on the task in the center of the screen (1) and add (2) the user(s) you wish to observe the task (3).
