# What is the difference between the planned date and the due date?

# Planned date

The [planned date](/en/articles/2533299-plan-tasks) is the date you want to perform the task, it is used to define in which category the task is placed (today, tomorrow, later...). The planned date is also the date edited when using the Organize > Schedule tool.

# Due date

The [due date](/en/articles/2533540-task-due-dates) is the date on which the task must be completed. Sometimes the planned date is used as the start date and the due date as the end date.
